Many people have had their share of misconceptions about Yoga at some point in their life.
Yoga is the one of orthodox systems of Indian philosophy. The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘yuj’ meaning to bind & ‘yoke’ to direct and concentrate one’s attention on, to use & apply. It means to unify with the universal consciousness.
As the well cut diamond has many facets, each reflecting a different colour of light, so does the word ‘Yoga’, each facet reflecting a different shade of meaning & revealing different aspects of the entire range of human endeavour to win inner peace & happiness.
Yoga has also been described as wisdom in work or skillful living amongst activities, in harmony & moderation. By moderation in eating & resting, by regulation in working & by concordance in sleeping & waking, yoga destroys all pains & sorrows.
